Working hours: Full time (Monday – Friday)

Location: The Elizabeth Foundation Family Centre, Southwick Hill Rd, Cosham, Hants, PO6 3LL

The Elizabeth Foundation is an Ofsted-registered charity that teaches children aged 0-5, with all degrees of deafness to learn to listen and talk, whilst supporting parents and carers to help their child develop. We have been providing practical guidance, support and education services for 43 years, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and family welfare.

We are looking for someone who can engage and inspire a wide range of supporters and donors and effectively reach out to the wider community to motivate support for the work we do. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to manage and run community fundraising events to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities

  • To support the Fundraising Coordinator and the wider fundraising team to achieve individual targets from fundraising activities. 
  • To build and develop community fundraising initiatives in support of the development of fundraising income and awareness of the charity. This may include, but not be limited to interactions with church groups, schools/colleges, Freemason and Rotary Groups, WIs, local associations etc.
  • To actively take part in Fundraising Team meetings, contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas.
  • To provide accurate and efficient processing and acknowledgement of donations.
  • To maintain the supporter database (Beacon), ensuring supporter’s details are accurately updated.
  • To work closely with the Fundraising Coordinator to ensure that supporters are personally thanked and appropriately followed up for further support.
  • To support the fundraising team with research into new supporters and to develop fundraising communications.
  • To compile and send out fundraising materials on behalf of the Fundraising Coordinator
  • To provide support to the planning and organising of key events.
  • To provide support to the team on a range of administrative tasks, including managing and responding to queries (face to face, postal, telephone, email, social media), managing incoming and outgoing post, booking meetings and taking minutes.
  • To work with the Fundraising Coordinator to ensure tasks are correctly prioritised and deadlines are met.
  • To be responsible for your own administration and efficiently organise your activities with guidance from the Fundraising Coordinator wherever possible.
  • To undertake any duties reasonably assigned by the Fundraising Coordinator/Senior Management Team.
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with TEF staff and volunteers 
  • To embed safeguarding and child protection in all activities and adhere to The Elizabeth Foundation’s policies and procedures at all times.
  • Out of hours working:  This job will involve out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends) offset by time off in lieu.  This will include mandatory attendance at events such as quiz nights (which may not finish until c10.30pm), the annual Summer Fayre and Christmas Bazaar, and occasional talks to external supporters and community groups.
