Pre-Contract Administrator
Mynott Bowers Limited is a leading Quantity Surveying business, specialising in preparing Bills of Quantities for construction and civil engineering projects in the UK and Australian markets.
Full-time Permanent Position: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
This position is office based at Mynott Bowers headquarters in Bedford.
This important role supports the Pre-contract Team throughout the life of a project, from initial client instruction through to ‘on-time’ delivery. To excel in this role, you should have experience of working in a fast-paced office environment, have a keen eye for detail, and a professional approach. This role would suit an experienced senior administrator that is able to work with minimal guidance once training is complete.
Main duties include but not limited to:
- Be first point of contact for inbound telephone calls and visitors where necessary.
- Support the Pre-Contract Co-Ordinator in the collation of Bills to meet deadlines.
- Review all Bills of Quantities received from Quantity Surveyors, ensure they are completed and presented to the highest quality.
- Liaise with clients concerning queries/responses prior to the issue of final Bills of Quantities ‘on time’, and all in accordance with clients’ brief.
- Maintain daily contact with the Pre-Contract Co-Ordinator regarding client queries and additional information issued.
- Office administration as required including printing and posting of technical drawings, archiving, and supporting the Managing Director and Group Business Development Manager with ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Maintain CRM Database – create new contact cards and projects.
- Ensure all Consultant QS PI documentation is up to date and held on file.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Confident user of MS Word, Excel, Outlook (Editing and formatting documents in Excel is part of this role).
- Experience of using a CRM database.
- Excellent administration and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Keen eye for detail is essential in this role.
- Strong communication skills - written and spoken (Confident telephone manner).
- Ability to work with minimal guidance, always be conscientious and professional.
Desirable ‘but not essential’ Experience/Skills:
- Experience of working in the Construction Industry, or closely related Professional Services.
