Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the key purpose of the Finance Business Partner role is to build a close working relationship with key senior stakeholders across the Destination Sport and wider Portman Travel Group’s business areas. You’ll manage the relationship between Group finance and Destination Sport Experience’s divisions, working closely with the Managing Director and other members of the SLT, to drive business performance, streamline processes and play a significant contribution to the divisions continued success.
On a typical day you will;
- Work closely with the Finance and Executive leadership teams to driving financial performance, operations and reporting.
Increase financial awareness to the senior leadership team (SLT) and non-financial management across the business.
- Work with the financial reporting team and SLT to develop appropriate analysis and understanding of commercial performance and cost drivers against KPI’s.
- Build forecasts which ensure operational buy-in and allow performance management with relevant KPIs.
- Support the integration of new acquisitions into the group.
- Develop the financial reporting requirements of new acquisitions.
- Work closely with operational teams and assist with queries relating to financials.
- Support in systems and process development and improvement.
- Become a key liaison between finance and the wider business, particularly the MD and SLT within Destination Sport Experiences.
- Work on ad-hoc projects and improvements to the Sports finance process.
- Maximise personal skills, knowledge and experience to positively impact on performance.
- Adhere to the organisation’s policy and procedures on information security and take whatever actions are required to safeguard data and assets.
To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
- Have previous business partnering experience, ideally in a fast-paced, multidivisional, operational environment.
- Have experience in presenting to senior stakeholders (MD level).
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
- Be computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Be proactive and able to build strong relationships with non-finance.
- Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Possess strong knowledge of back-office systems.
- Be able to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives.
- Have the ability to think logically, consider all relevant aspects and carry out complex analysis on information.
