Leeds City College are recruiting for a Course Leader in Health and Social Care to join our team.
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our School of Health Science and Social Care team. We offer courses from Entry 3 to Level 3 for young people and adults who want to progress into the health and social care sector. We are an outstanding department with highly committed and supportive staff. This role will be overseeing the T level in Health course and supporting the programme manager in delivery and overseeing the quality of the course.
What You Will Do
- Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
- Be responsible for recording student progress.
- Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
- Teach across the curriculum levels ranging from Anatomy and physiology, science units to units such as Safeguarding, Mental Health, Sociology, Psychological
- Perspectives, Effective Communication Industry Placement Units. Overseeing the T Level delivery.
- Working closely with employers and supporting students readiness for their industry placements.
About You
- highly Organised and able to stay calm and work under pressure.
- has experience in safeguarding young people and/ or adults.
- is highly motivated and able to use their own initiative to respond to challenges as well as being able to work effectively within a team.
- has experience of working with vulnerable groups in an educational setting and of working with a range of internal and external partners and referring into their services.
- has experience supporting students in a FE setting.
- ideally has a background in health or adult social care and can support the need for growth of the sector.
- has a commitment to professional standards and restorative practice approaches.
