About the role
Epilepsy Connections is looking for a dedicated Allotment Tutor to manage and oversee our community allotment in Glasgow’s West End.
This freelance role offers a unique opportunity to combine gardening expertise with social impact. Each week, you'll lead a welcoming and inclusive allotment group, supporting people living with epilepsy as they engage in nature, peer support, and skill-building. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the site, planning and overseeing seasonal planting, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.

Allotment Tutor
Job Description.
The purpose of the role is to manage and oversee Epilepsy Connections Allotment site in Glasgow’s West End. The site is the home of our weekly Allotment Group for service users – each week approx. 4 – 12 people, living with epilepsy, come to the site to access peer support, enjoy the outdoors and to socialise, all while learning about the allotment informally in the company of the Allotment Tutor who has lead responsibility for maintaining the plot site during the year. The site generally grows a range of fruit, flowers and vegetables, but ultimately the choice of planting is down to the successful candidate to determine. Overall responsibility for the plot site lies with the successful candidate.
The Allotment Tutor is supported each week by 2 trained volunteers who are able to help provide additional support in the event of any onsite seizure activity with our participants.
Job Title: Allotment Tutor
Salary: £15 p/h plus expenses– paid by submitting a monthly invoice each month.
Pension: Not Applicable as this is a Freelance position
Hours: Minimum of 5hrs on a weekly basis on an agreed day of the week between Monday – Friday that suits the successful candidate. Minimum of 20hrs p/m.
There will be a requirement to visit the site out of season to maintain the site’s readiness and to ensure it is prepared for each coming season. All additional visits will be paid at the agreed hourly rate

Contract: This is a freelance role there for the successful candidate with be responsible for their payment of tax & national insurance
