Electrical Design and Tendering Manager. Based Bradford

The electrical Design and Tendering manager is responsible for the pre wired electrical feeder pillar product range. The role involves liaising with clients to design and price electrical feeder pillars of various specifications, for the Highways, Street Lighting and EV charging market. It requires the liaising with the electrical manufacturing team building the pillars in the factory.

The candidate will produce drawings, wiring schematics and will produce quotations for existing and new customers. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves liaising directly with the clients to produce drawings in line with the customers specifications. The right candidate will have a strong commercial awareness, to ensure jobs are priced both competitively and in line with financial targets.

Based in Bradford, the company is part of a manufacturing Group based in the North of England. The company specialise in the supply of powered apparatus to the highways, Street Lighting, EV and Utilities industries.

The wider Group specialise in contract manufacturing and plastic moulding.

Main responsibilities and requirements

• Head the prewired feeder pillar department, and work alongside the sales team to grow the prewired business
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
• Create and update product drawings and wiring schematics
• Create Bills of material
• Create quotations and liaise with the sales team, carry out customer visits as appropriate
• Oversee the work of the electricians in the factory producing the pre wired pillars
• Liaise with the manufacturing team making the steel pillar shells to ensure they are provided to the electrical team in line with required dates

Skills and Qualifications

• Computer literate with appropriate electrical technical qualification, Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Design Experience - must be fully conversant with design drawing package for electrical design schematics
• Experience of communicating at all levels and with customers.
