Job Vacancy: Textile Overlooker/Tuner

Purpose of Role:

Working for one of the most flexible weaving plants in Europe – we have the ability to produce lengths from 12m to 3000m. This role requires you to work as part of the weaving team with the purpose and responsibility of maximising our weaving efficiencies to meet customer deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure that loom downtime is kept to a minimum by working with our weaving team to increase efficiencies.
• Assisting the Production Manager in the identification and rectification of quality problems.
• To assist in the maintenance of a safe working environment through the strict adherence to company health and safety rules and procedures.
• Carrying out change-overs of looms from different designs and gears (Loomers).
• Starting up new production jobs & ensuring the fabric is set to weave correctly by checking the fabric width, pick rate, design, length settings and yarn required.
• Working with the weavers to ensure all fabric woven is fault free by making adjustments to loom settings as required.
• Responding to loom repairs & breakdowns.
• Updating the loom monitoring system to ensure accurate data is generated.
• Ensure planned & general maintenance is carried out on allocated looms.

Attributes & Experience:

• Experience working on Dornier looms
• Attention to detail
• Good literacy/numeracy skills
• Excellent timekeeping
• Full capacity to recognise and distinguish between different colours
• Good dexterity and experience with yarn qualities

Hours of Work: Mon to Thu: 07:00 – 18:15

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £37,000.00 per year

Additional pay: Performance bonus
