Catering Assistant

Part-time, term-time

10.30am to 2.30pm daily during term time

The salary for 20 hours per week, term-time only is £10,684.40pa. The hourly rate is £12.60.
 
We are looking to appoint a Catering Assistant to work in our busy school kitchen with our friendly catering team. The post will involve general kitchen duties, to include food preparation and presentation, serving of food, clearing, cleaning and washing up.

This role is predominantly term-time, 10.30am to 2.30pm, although additional days/hours will be required at the start and end of each term, to include training days. 

The successful candidate will ideally have a genuine interest in food and nutrition, quality ingredients, and their importance in a school setting. High standards of hygiene, a willingness to work as part of a team and recent and relevant experience in a busy catering environment, ideally within the hospitality sector, are essential. The successful candidate will have the opportunity, should they wish, undertake a nationally recognised qualification. We would expect you to maintain very high standards and to enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and visitors to the School.

Uniform and safety shoes are provided. All catering staff are offered professional development and will be trained to NVQ Level 2 in Catering. Benefits include a staff pension scheme you can opt into, with employer contributions and lunch is provided.
