The Role

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Property Finance Assistant to join our Accounts team and support the Finance Manager with the company's accounts. The role will primarily deal with purchase ledgers but there is a scope to support in other areas of finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with the ability to handle high volumes of purchase ledger processing and intricate reconciliation tasks, along with excellent attention to detail.

The successful individual will have good interpersonal skills and be happy to fit into a close-knit office with a can-do attitude.

Supplier Invoice Management

  • Check and code supplier invoices against delivery notes and price lists.
  • Ensure all invoices are coded to preset budgets.
  • Manage a high volume of purchase ledger processing efficiently.

Supplier Statements and Account Reconciliations

  • Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Resolve any queries related to supplier accounts promptly and accurately.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Review 21 bank accounts daily.
  • Reconcile and finalise bank accounts on a monthly basis.

Intracompany Recharging

  • Process intracompany recharges accurately and in a timely manner

Tenant Recharging

  • Handle tenant recharges, ensuring all charges are accurate and communicated effectively.

Expense Claims Processing

  • Review and process expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Credit Control

  • Manage credit control processes, including debtor letters and calls. Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.

Service Charge Accounting

  • Manage service charge accounting, including year-end reconciliations and budget preparation.
  • Maintain accurate tenant accounts and handle any related queries.

Utilities Reconciliation and Recharging

  • Reconcile utility accounts and process recharges to tenants as required.

VAT Reporting and Submissions

  • Prepare and submit VAT reports in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with exteYear-End Financial Reporting auditors for year-end financial reporting.
  • Ensure all financial statements and reports are accurate and submitted on time.

P&L and Balance Sheet Reporting

  • Prepare and review P&L and balance sheet reports.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Quarterly Management Reports

  • Prepare quarterly management reports, providing insights into financial performance and property operations.

Qualifications

  • AAT Qualification is preferred
  • Experience in property finance or a similar role is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger processing and bank reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in property software and Microsoft Excel. (Propman would be an advantage.)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Effective at handling a high volume of transactions and can meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of VAT reporting and service charge accounting is highly desirable.
