As Assistant Director you will lead the Housing Development service and a team of dedicated professionals. You will guide investment strategy across housing types and oversee key capital programmes and the council’s housing investment vehicles including Matrix Homes and This City.

It will be vital to drive collaboration with partners including Registered Providers, developers, health and care services, and Greater Manchester bodies. You will also lead the Strategic Housing Board and shape the policy environment at local and national levels.

This is a complex and high-profile role requiring significant leadership experience in housing development or regeneration, which could come from within a public or private sector setting.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker with excellent political awareness who will also have a deep understanding of housing policy, planning, investment, and partnership working.
