Fabricator (Plastics)

Or are you an experienced MIG/TIG welder looking to train in fabrication plastics? Or maybe you're someone who enjoys splitting your time being mainly factory-based, with some occasional travel across the country? If so, then we have the perfect role for you!

We at APMG are looking for someone to help grow our ever-expanding Plastic Fabrication Department. In this role you will be fabricating and installing everything from our standard fan ranges to high-value fume scrubber and ductwork installation projects. The products we fabricate include fan cases, fume scrubbers, tanks, rectangular ductwork, large-diameter circular ductwork, transition sections and more.

This role will primarily be based at our Factory in Little Hulton, Manchester. However, it will also include travel around the country including overnight stays during the week and the occasional weekend (expenses all covered). You will be spending around two thirds of your time in the factory and the other third travelling.

Key Skills We Are Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years plastic welding & fabrication experience (Metal fabrication experience also considered)
• Able to work from technical drawings
• Competent in cutting, folding, and welding plastic sheets (Polypropylene, PVC, etc.)
• Reliable and a good timekeeper
• Takes pride in producing quality work.
• Have good Safety, Environmental and Quality awareness.
• Have knowledge/experience of working on construction sites.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Hard working attitude and reliable
• Willing to travel occasionally
• Driving License
• CSCS card (Preferred)
• PASMA & IPAF certification (Preferred)

Plastic welding torch: 2 years (required)
