Job Requirements/Description

We are looking to recruit as and when staff to support across both of our residential services, offering a variety of shifts, days shift, back shift, nightshift and sleepovers.

Glasgow 16+ service has been operational in Glasgow for 30 years. Primarily a housing support service to young people with care experience from local authority. The service is for young people ages 16-26, offering residential, and community housing options.

Onslow drive is a residential service operating in the east end of Glasgow for over 8 years. It is home to three young people who need intensive support. Support is offered in a nurturing environment to support the young person as they mature into young adults. The young people are supported to reach their goals and aspirations in a trauma informed way, a rights based approach and in line with the values and basis of Barnardos. Support is both practical and emotional.

We are looking for individuals who can support the operations of the service and ensure that the service can operate during periods of staff absence. You will be part of the team, and will work on building relationships, nurturing and supporting the young people within the service to achieve their goals.

The service is looking for individuals to apply for this post who are motivated, and committed to supporting and caring for the young people in our service. Individuals who can offer nurture and support during good times and challenging times. looking for individuals who will respect the unique individuality of every young person and  be creative and  determined to help young people to reach their goals and fulfil their potential.

We know that our colleagues go above and beyond in delivering our vital work, driven by their passion and commitment to Barnardo's?values.? We also know that we can only realise our ambitions and achieve better outcomes for more children, thanks to the talent, hard work and creativity of our people.

This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our?People & Culture?Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.?
